Itinerary
Upon arriving at Inverness International Airport, meet your driver in the arrival hall for a transfer to your hotel in Inverness . After checking in (available from 14:00), you’ll have free time to explore your hotel at your leisure. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability upon arrival.
begin your exploration of the city by visiting Inverness Castle, which offers fantastic views over the River Ness and the surrounding area. While the castle itself is not open to the public, you can still appreciate the architecture and the beautiful grounds. Head to the city center and grab a bite at one of the local eateries. You could try traditional Scottish fare such as Cullen skink (a smoked haddock soup) or haggis, neeps, and tatties (turnips and potatoes). Spend the afternoon exploring Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, where you can learn about the local history and culture, or take a walk along the scenic River Ness. Enjoy dinner in one of the many riverside restaurants in Inverness or a traditional pub where you can sample some local whisky. The city has a great selection of places to unwind after your first day.
Drive out to Loch Ness, one of Scotland’s most famous landmarks, located just a short drive south of Inverness. Stop at Urquhart Castle, perched on the shores of Loch Ness. Explore the ruins, learn about the history of the castle, and take in panoramic views of the loch, which is famous for the legendary Loch Ness Monster. There are several cafes around Loch Ness where you can enjoy lunch with a view of the lake. Many offer seafood dishes and local specialties. After visiting Urquhart Castle, take a scenic drive around Loch Ness. Consider visiting Dores Beach, a quieter spot on the loch where you can take a peaceful walk along the shoreline or even take a boat tour to explore the loch from the water. Return to Inverness for a relaxing evening. Explore some of the local bars and restaurants in the city center, or if you prefer a quieter evening, enjoy a leisurely walk along the river.
After breakfast, meet your driver for a smooth transfer to the airport. We recommend scheduling your hotel pick-up at least 4 hours before your flight departure to allow ample time for check-in.
